BePreparedForum.com was created to provide a friendly atmosphere where experts and amateurs alike can discuss every aspect of being prepared.  We strive to help all of our users have a positive and  beneficial experience by maintaining a strict code of ethics.  However, BePreparedForum.com, its moderators, employees, or Emergency Essentials and its employees will not be held liable for offensive content presented on BePreparedForum.com.

The following rules are to be strictly observed in the forum. Those who choose to break these rules may be warned, have their account temporarily suspended, or be removed from this website at the discretion of the staff.  Serious violations such as threats of violence or advocating illegal or criminal acts may result in legal action.

General Rules:

  1. Only one account per person is permitted.
  2. When registering, a valid email address must be used.  Disposable email addresses are not permitted. If found, we will remove the account in question.
  3. Keep all posts on-topic.
  4. All posts must be in English.
  5. Websites and domain names in forum/login names are not allowed.
  6. Do not astroturf or pretend to be/represent somebody else.  Your account will be deleted if found to be in breach of this rule.
  7. Do not discuss illegal activities.  If it’s against the law, this forum is not the place for it.
  8. Use the search feature to check that your question has not been answered anywhere else on the site before posting  
  9. Post your comment/question to the most appropriate section of the forum.  Any posts determined by moderators to be in the wrong forum will be moved.  Do not cross-post the same question to multiple places.
  10. Make sure you have read the original post completely before posting a reply.
  11. Use your own words.  If you wish to use the words of somebody else, quote them, citing the source.  
  12. Choose an appropriate subject line.  Try to summarize the question briefly in the subject, and elaborate in the message itself.  Repeat the subject in the body if it will make things clearer.  Do not use all caps and do not add false information just to get attention (e.g.: read this or you will be arrested).  An example of a bad subject would be "HELP ME."  A good subject might be, "Why is my bread so dense?"  
  13. Do not use a URL as a thread title.

Content:

  1. Do not post derogatory comments of a racial, religious, or sexual nature.  This includes your username, signature, thread subjects and your post.
  2. Profanity is not allowed.  Site Staff and Moderators reserve the right to edit these items and to remove your ability to modify them in the future.
  3. Do not link to any site that contains adult content, sexually oriented material, pornography, nudity, animal cruelty, racism, or sexism, or might otherwise be considered offensive.  Any post containing an inappropriate link will be deleted and the poster will receive a warning.
  4. Do not post comments or links in support of illegal activities including, but not limited to, threats against the life of any person, doing harm to a state or federal official, or advocating the overthrow of the government.
  5. No links to any sites promoting or selling items comparable to those that Emergency Essentials to be posted anywhere on our forum without approval from forum administrators.
  6. No commercial advertising is permitted unless pre-approved by administrators.
  7. No reviews, comments or posts about other emergency preparedness or food storage companies, positive or negative, are permitted and can be removed by administrators or moderators.
  8. No links to any sites promoting or selling items to be posted anywhere on our forum without approval from forum administrators.  No commercial advertising is permitted unless pre-approved by administrators.
  9. Do not post someone else's personal contact information (home phone numbers, home addresses, unpublished e-mail addresses, and the like).  This includes information obtained through WHOIS searches, etc.
  10. Do not attack or insult a person in an effort to elicit a negative response.  You have a right to disagree, but please do so in a respectful manner.   Keep all commentary civil, and be courteous at all times.  Constructive criticism is welcome, but insults directed towards other users or the site admins will not be tolerated.  Coarse, insulting language will not be tolerated.
  11. Any posts deemed to be self promotion, advertising, or spam can and will be removed.  NO SPAM - NO ADVERTISING e.g. posting and making excessive, inappropriate and unnecessary references to your products and websites is self promotion.
  12. If you feel a post violates any of these rules, or you need to bring it to the attention of a moderator, please use the ‘report this post’ link to notify the moderators.
  13. Do not post topics or discussions that do the site or community harm.  More specifically creating topics meant to disrupt the site's day to day management, disrupt member's resources, or disrupt the ability for the site to function normally.

Obligation to Indemnify.
